Gold Coast most epic burgers revealed

In News

Small, XXL, super-sized, stuffed, in brioche, with bacon and extra brie…on the Gold Coast we like burgers any which way. So, if you think you’ve seen it all, tackled the metaphorical whales of the GC burger world so to speak, you’d better have tried all the burger joints on this list.

Here are the best burgers on the Gold Coast to wrap your choppers around.

Eddie’s Grub House

Still haven’t checked out Eddie’s in Cooly? Now’s your chance to get down and familiar with the whisky dive bar. Serving up epic live music and an extensive tipple selection, these guys dish out some of the best burgers on the Gold Coast. Our top pick? The Sloppy Joe Cocker is an absolute ripper. With a 120g char-grilled all beef patty, chili con carne, red cheddar, sour cream and shallots, you’re going to love it. Hot tip: don’t wear white.

Brooklyn Depot

Surfers Paradise

Americana burger bars, eat your heart out. Brooklyn Depot’s glossy burger buns, succulent meats and oozing cheese means that ordering just one burger would be an insult. Also offering fried chicken topped bloody Mary’s and chicken topped waffles, we have a feeling you won’t be leaving here anytime soon. Don’t limit yourself and go for burger gold with one their monster creations, like the Smash Up—crispy bacon, southern fried chicken and smashed beef patty, topped with American cheese, a spicy tomato and cheese sauce all wedged between a milk bun.

Ze Pickle

Burleigh Heads

Sometimes you want your outrageous burger with a side of cool bar vibes and excellent cocktails. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Burleigh hotspot Ze Pickle. Here, we can’t just pick one favourite, so here’s out hit list—the Biting Buddha (grilled Szechuan chicken, red chili, haloumi cheese with kewpie mayo), Ya Mum (pressed wagyu beef patty, ze fries, ipa beer cheeze sauce, maple smoked bacon with truffle butter), and the Mac Burger Pro (jalapeño five-cheeze fried macaroni patty, zp sauce with mum’s slaw and corn chips).

The Loose Moose

Burgers on buns and in bowls, now that’s got caught your interest! Moody vibes and good times isn’t all that Loose Moose offers its Broadbeach guests. With a seriously impressive line-up of burgs, you’ll be returning time and time again, just to make your way through the menu. We recommend the Big Blue for something different. Topped with Byron Beef, onion, tomato, sautéed mushrooms, and a generous serve gorgonzola and smoked jalapeno mayo, it’s an epic flavour hit.

Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co.

Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach & Robina

We don’t know who Betty is, but we love her and we love her burgers. Opening up new stores all across Australia and thankfully in three locations on the Coast, we adore that this American-Styled diner is actually Aussie-owned. We think the recipe creators for Betty’s Burgers must have put in some serious hard yards scouring the U.S. for tasty burg creations. With her soft-as-a-pillow milky buns, crispy fried mushroom patty filled with Gruyere cheese, all topped with lettuce, tomato and Betty’s Special Sauce, make sure you don’t skip past the ‘Shroom Burger.

Palm Beach

Sometimes you’re ravished with a hunger. A hunger that only burgers can satisfy. Down the southern end, Burgster in Palm Beach has got you 100% covered. These guys take your classic faves and give them a tasty makeover. While we drool over pretty much every item on their menu, we can’t go past their Ugly Burger—buttermilk chicken, cheese, pickles, lettuce, onion, jalapeno mayo and HOT dust. And for the pescatarians, opt for the deep fried bug tails, marinated in chilli, parsley, garlic with lemon mayo on a brioche bun.

Bille Dee’s Burgers, Beats & Beers

Biggera Waters

Perfectly marrying the best of American style burgers with New Zealand flavours, The Broshave been slinging juicy burgers up north for years. There’s a bunch of drool-worthy burgers on the menu, but we can’t go past the Beached As (melt-in-your mouth beer-battered Hoki fillet topped with cheese, soft egg and tartare sauce) and the Maholo (pulled pork, grilled pineapple, cheese and smoky BBQ sauce) Even better? All burgers here come with free fries.

Easy Street Diner

Mermaid Beach

A feast for the eyes it doesn’t get any more American that Easy Street Diner. Flippin’ burgers like New Yorkers do the ES team have their dishes 100% perfected and 100% tasty. Just the way we like them. Head straight for the Cheezie Boi, with buttermilk chicken tenders, halloumi, smoked bacon, bacon cheese sauce and baconaise. We order ours with extra bacon, just because we can. Wash it down with a Budweiser or root beer float.

Bondi Grill’e

Coolangatta and Burleigh

Sharing locations across Burleigh, Coolangatta and just casually, Uluwatu in Bali, Bondi Grill’e’s collection of 15+ burgers all get our tick of approval. With their Cooly store just tucked away from Snapper Rocks, a whole heap of these double bun-wiches are inspired by the surf. We would feel like bad people if we didn’t tell you about the Cape Town Burger. This South African dream is a double decker, with beef or chicken. Then topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled pineapple, beetroot, caramelised onions, salad and secret sauce.

Longboards Laidback Eatery and Bar

Surfers Paradise

Regularly featured on the ‘best burgers’ lists, Longboards is serious about food and hands-down has some of the strangest burgers on the Gold Coast. The Phat Bastard Challenge is a monster of a dish. Think: 600 grams grilled wagyu with crispy bacon, melted cheese, pulled pork, beer battered onion rings and all your favourite salads. Not a great idea to slip into Longboard’s swimming pool after this bad boy. It’s near impossible to choose just one favourite here, but we can’t go past the Cheezus of Nazareth, with grilled wagyu, crispy bacon, a deep-fried cheese patty, pickles and tomato salsa.
